Yesterday we held a “topping off” ceremony to celebrate a major milestone in the construction of our Midvale, Utah, tech campus.
Zions Bancorporation Chairman and CEO Harris Simmons, Chief Technology and Operations Officer Jennifer Smith and Zions Bank President and CEO Scott Anderson were joined for the event by Midvale Mayor Robert M Hale as well as officials from Gardner Company, Okland Construction, Layton Construction, WRNS Studio, Method Studio and Colliers Utah.
This long-held tradition among ironworkers celebrates the placement of the final steel beam at the top of building. Typically, an evergreen tree is placed at one end of the beam and a U.S. flag the at other.
